The Yacht’s Story
Ollimel was bought by Kenneth Garvey (an Aussie now living in Germany) in 2015 and sailed from its mooring in Sonderborg (Denmark) to Hamburg via the Kiel Canal. According to Kenneth:
I have the previous sales invoice for the boat and it mentions that the boat is an S&S34 1970 called “Tinker Bell”. I spoke to the current owner, and he said the previous owner was a retired German who brought the boat over from Australia and spent many years renovating the boat. Apparently he sailed extensively around Italy. I tried contacting this gentlemen without luck.
Webmaster note: It looks from the deck moulding that she was probably built in the UK and sailed to Australia, the construction is not that of a Swarbrick built boat. The coach roof looks like a custom design and build.
