The Yacht’s Story
When Peter bought her she had been laid up for three years and was in a fairly poor condition. She has been completely re-furbished inside and out, with new instruments, GPS, auto-pilot, new teak and holly floor, re-constructed joinery, new winches etc. etc and a new twin spreader mast will be installed in the next few weeks. She is racing again every week and competing strongly in our local regattas. We are planning on going to the Grenada Sailing Festival in January and Angostura Race Week in Tobago in March not too sure what after that.
Morning Tide has won the Antigua Race Week twice!
From Nick Parker, May 2009:
I have recently purchased Morning Tide
from Peter Morris in Trinidad, and would like to join the Association. We sailed
her from Trinidad to the BVI a trip of 600 miles that we did in 80hrs not a
bad average. She will be shipped back from the USVI to the UK once back in the
UK she will be kept on the River Orwell in Suffolk, I am a member of Royal
Harwich Yacht Club and Pin Mill Sailing Club. I plan to cruise her with my young
family and race her in local series and some offshore sailing.
I have visited Fremantle as I sailed in the Whitbread in 1989 on Liverpool
Enterprise.
