 The Yacht’s Story

Mike Parkinson bought Morning T in 2006, when she was named Robo. He believed he was about the 5th owner, and was told that she was the last boat built by Maybrook Marine, although he is not sure whether this is really the case as he thinks he has seen a later boat with a centre galley arrangement (does anyone know anything about this boat?). The internal layout is very similar to the last of the Swarbrick boats with the “cruising” arrangement, although with a very clever and attractive enlargement of the galley top (see photos). Mike says Maybrook built and fitted the boat very well, having found no issues to date with the construction. Mike’s description (2010):

She is a 1986 MkII model built by Maybrook Marine in Sydney. She has been claimed to be the last S&S 34 built by Maybrook, but I can not substantiate that.

She has the tall, double spreader rig, keel stepped mast, and Yanmar 3GM 30FC, 27hp diesel with saildrive, Autostream 3 blades feathering prop. Morning T is a comfortable yacht, well thought out and equipped. She is fitted with the following options:

  • Hot & cold pressure water, including shower,
  • Wheel Steering,
  • Spray dodger and side curtains, plus boom tent,
  • Built in TV with DVD player,
  • Danfoss 12v electric eutectic plate refrigeration,
  • Self tailing winches,
  • Raymarine 24 mile RADAR and chart plotter,
  • Codan 8525S SSB Marine HF Transceiver,
  • Simrad WP20 wheel pilot
