The Yacht’s Story
From Mr & Mrs Neate:
Moon Cloud is in good shape, new engine, sails and much of the rig replaced before we started cruising and all well maintained. She is a UK moulded hull but a unique one made for the 1971 Genoa boat show – she has the sleeker coach roof of the Aussie design but underwater is the same as all the other UK ones.
About the Owners
From the Neates, Nov 2005:
We had a great 4 years cruising around the Med with her, a wonderful sailing boat if a little small for long term live-aboard but we have now moved to Auckland and returned to a conventional shore-based existence (mains electricity and hot running water are really appreciated!).
From Dennis Gosling Feb
2008:
I have purchased Moon Cloud in
Aug after looking for a S&S for some time, I will be sailing her between
England and Spain, visiting France and Ireland as well, looking forward to
keeping in correspondence. Hope to sail down to see you at the yacht club
one year.
Lovely to see her again I bought her back in about 1990 from a yard in Preston Lancs.
Did quite a lot refurb and had the rig replaced after she was knocked over while ashore in a boatyard, they were very embarassed but very good about replacing everything.
We did the French canals and cruised French and Italian Med for about a year before returning to Uk.
Happy times.
