The Yacht’s Story
From Lukas
Venema May 2011:
We, Lukas and Hilde Venema, are since August 2006
the owners of an S&S 34. The vessel is named MALLARD, her former name was
TRINTEL II
Former Owner was Mr. J. van den Berg who sailed
many races with her and won many prizes, we are the 2nd owner.
She was built in 1970 at Rackheath by Aqua-fibre
Ltd. in the UK. Building no. 055. As we bought the vessel the previous
owner was 90 years old – he sailed races until the age of 85 years. We
still are sailing races in our area against all types of modern vessels but we
are still winning prizes.
For the holidays we are sailing in the Baltic.
The vessel is still in her original state. After we bought her on the outside we
had just to polish her she has never been painted.
The interior has been varnished and some sails
have been renewed. She is berthed now in DELFZIJL the Netherlands. Her sailing
no. is H 1510.
