The Yacht’s Story
Kiriwina has moorings in Napier NZ and has belonged to John Craven for about 14 years (2005). Ross and Barbara Ewens (who were family of Stan & Jacquie Reid) left Perth around late 1980early 1981 and sailed to Sydney, then Queensland and later to NZ, some reports say in 1984 but it may have been earlier.
Does anybody know why was the name Kiriwina was chosen and is it after the island Kiriwina?
.
Kiriwina was an RAAF base during WW2
The Island was abundant with Tonkinese girls as every sailor knows were beautiful And The RAAF pilots had a real good time This was related to me by the builder of the sloop
