The Yacht’s Story
Built by Mike Finn’s father Merv, Huckleberry has been raced extensively, and with a great deal of success for 25 years, including winning the Siska Trophy Series three times on IRC handicap and the Geraldton Ocean Classic twice. She was sold to Steve Humphries in 2006 when Mike Finn built a new S&S 34 “Constellation”. Steve competed in the 2007 Sydney-Hobart, scoring a Divisional 3rd place. In 2008 she came second (by 4 minutes!) in the Fremantle to Geraldton race.
Since being sold to Phil in 2013 she has competed regularly ar RPYC, placing 3rd in the 2103 Consistency series, plus some offshore races and a trip to Shark Bay in NW Western Australia.
