2000 Syzygy II Aust Reg: 854973. The original Syzygy was owned by Sinclair Hutton and sold to John ?.Recently (March 2006) spotted by John McCormack (Morning Bird): I saw Syzygy II in Refuge Bay this afternoon. We had just spent the weekend in the Hawkesbury and were in Refuge for a swim and shower under the waterfall and I saw a red S&S34 on the other side of the bay.She is red topsides with a white or light coloured deck, in boom reefing, a furler and a fawn dodger. She looks to be in very good condition. I suspect she is based somewhere in Pittwater or the Hawkesbury to be in Refuge Bay on a Sunday afternoon.

  1. MORNING MENACE – lost? renamed?

I used to sail with Bruce Keys aboard MM, RPYC, 1970s. Previous owner was, I believe John Walsh. My recollection was that she was on a swinging mooring RF after Bruce sold her. MM was one of the earlier WA boats.- may have been the boat that travelled out to

    • Dear Peter,

Morning Menace is still around, she was bought a few years ago by Russ Belaya and renamed Rushcutter III. He did quite a lot of work fixing her up but am not sure he finished her off. He became unwell and died a couple of years ago, I believe the boat has now been sold but am not sure who to. If you do a search on the site under “Morning Menace” you will bring up all the details.

      Regards, Simon (webmaster)
