The Yacht's Story

Kiriwina has moorings in Napier NZ and has belonged to John Craven for about 14 years (2005).
It is believed to have been sailed to N.Z. in 1984

Does anybody know why was the name Kiriwina was chosen and is it after the island Kiriwina?

Note: There is another S&S 34 up north some where that had coach roof damage when coming to New Plymouth for the solo race back to Mooloolaba. I was told the larger windows that had been fitted contributed to the weakening of the damaged area.
